The Onto series
These are geometric abstractions in oil, in the vein of Mondrian’s tree abstractions circa 1910-1916. They were built up over existing, finished paintings and take a course toward the balance between Hans Hoffmann’s “push” and “pull.” The series title was suggested by Robert Motherwell's Open series.
