The Mystery of Dennis Leigh series
The art of Dennis Leigh (also known as John Foxx) has inspired me in my work for more than 35 years. These small paintings are part of an ongoing series that draw on titles and individual lines from Leigh's writings; on his now vast catalogue of electronic music; and on his designs and digitally altered photographs. All of these are linked to Leigh's unique continuous narrative about a hypothetical future of post-urban ruins with vague connections to the shadow of mid-20th-century visual culture, set unexpectedly in a deserted yet seductive English summer. . . .
